IBEW PAC (Political Action Committee):
The union is continuing its negotiations with the company to allow our members to join the IBEW PAC through payroll deduction. The IBEW PAC is financed through voluntary contributions from thousands of IBEW members throughout the United States. These voluntary contributions help elect labor-friendly candidates to public office. Members who wish to voluntarily contribute can do so for as little as a dollar a paycheck thru payroll deduction. Contributions are sent directly to the IBEW in Washington DC. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
Per Capita:
Per the 38th IBEW International Convention, which was conducted in Vancouver, BC, Article IX of the IBEW Constitution was amended. Accordingly, effective January 1, 2012, there will be a per capita increase of two dollars ($2.00) per month for all members. The Per Capita tax is the portion of your dues that is passed on directly to the IBEW International office. This will constitute approximately 93 cents per pay period increase in dues that is passed on directly to the International Office. The new per capita payment will begin with pay period 6 on March 22nd.
