Everyday, our elected officials make decisions that impact us on and off the job as citizens, parents, consumers, union members, and most specifically-as IBEW members. Decisions about pension plans, social security, healthcare, taxes, spending, collective bargaining rights and numerous other issues are being made daily. It is our duty and right to be involved in this decision-making process.
We must support candidates who have views and ideals that are supportive of working men and women in our country regardless of their political party.
We must educate IBEW members important political issues and communicate our views to all elected officials.
IBEW PAC contributed over $6 million to worker-friendly candidates and incumbents in the 2010 election, thanks to our members' outstanding voluntary participation.
(Political Action Committee):
The union is at the beginning stages of negotiating with the company to allow our members to join the IBEW PAC through payroll deduction. The IBEW PAC is financed through voluntary contributions from thousands of IBEW members throughout the United States. These voluntary contributions help elect labor-friendly candidates to public office. Members who wish to voluntarily contribute can do so for as little as a dollar a paycheck thru payroll deduction. Contributions are sent directly to the IBEW in Washington DC. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
